We’re (almost) Back!
We are beginning again.
Not from scratch… but from experience, from years of showing up, from the relationships and care that have always been at the center of this work.
Over the past year, Baltimore Doula Project has gone through significant change. After the end of our fiscal sponsorship in 2025, we’ve taken the steps to become an independent nonprofit. That shift has asked a lot of us… time, energy, patience, and deep reflection on what is sustainable and what our community needs most right now.
Some parts of our work have paused. Our abortion support program and our trainings are not currently active. This is not a closing, but a pause… with the hope and intention of bringing this care back in the future when we are able to hold it well again.
Our prison program, supporting pregnant incarcerated people, has grown into something that deserves its own dedicated home. We’re proud to share that this work is branching off into its own organization… an evolution that allows it to expand and deepen its impact in ways we fully support.
And still, we remain.
Our focus right now is clear: rebuilding and relaunching our birth and postpartum doula program for people in and around Baltimore.
This means returning to the core of what we do… offering free, compassionate, nonjudgmental support to people during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. It means showing up in homes, hospitals, and communities. It means holding space for autonomy, dignity, and care in moments that are often tender, complex, and life-changing.
We are moving intentionally. Thoughtfully. In a way that prioritizes sustainability, our doulas, and the communities we serve.
This next chapter may look different… but it is still rooted in the same belief: everyone deserves support through these transitions.
Thank you for being here with us as we begin again.
